Julian Street bridge named for Francis Powers

After listening to the four Democrats who are vying to run in the general election agree with each other for much of their first debate, independent state representative candidate John Valianti of Marshfield said he decided to issue a challenge.

One week after telling selectmen that the town might be heading toward a water ban, Department of Public Works Director Al Bangert was still worried about the town’s water usage.

By waiving a longstanding town policy, Scituate’s selectmen have cleared the way for two vendors, Del’s Lemonade and J.D.’s Dogs, to sell refreshments near the town’s beaches this summer.

This week, Scituate Historical Society members have been putting finishing touches on the town’s newly renovated Grand Army of the Republic Hall.
